Valentine’s Day is a great time to give her something she wants but wouldn’t buy herself. You can get her anything from flowers to jewelry and even kitchen supplies. Here are some ideas for inexpensive Valentine’s Day gifts that don’t break the bank:

Roses and Chocolate

If you’re looking for a classic Valentine’s Day gift, roses and chocolate are the way to go. They’ve been a favorite for decades—and with good reason! Roses can show how much you care about your significant other, while chocolate is a sweet way of saying “I love you.”

You can choose from an array of different flavors when shopping for chocolates. Chocolate bars are usually packed with nuts or almonds, so if your girlfriend has allergies or dislikes nuts (or both), try going with bonbons instead. You can also purchase gourmet truffles or caramels (depending on the time of year).

Flowers

Flowers are a classic Valentine’s Day gift. They say, “You’re on my mind.” And that’s precisely what you want to tell you’re significant other. If you’re unsure what flowers she likes or how to order them online, ask her! Most women will be happy to direct you in the right direction.

Flowers are easy for guys like me who aren’t very romantic by nature but want to express their feelings for someone special on this special Day (and every Day). You can deliver them yourself if you live near her office or home; otherwise, plenty of services out there will do it for you—and they’ll even add some heart-shaped balloons or chocolates!

It’s also worth noting that while roses have long been considered “the” flower choice for Valentine’s Day, tulips and other blooms have been gaining popularity lately thanks to the fact that they last longer than roses themselves do once cut from their stems.

Jewelry

Jewelry is a classic Valentine’s Day gift, but it doesn’t have to be expensive. A simple necklace can say “I love you” in such a unique way. If you’re worried about spending too much money, think about giving her something with your name or initials. This will allow her to wear something that reminds her of you daily and shows how much you care for her! Take a look at Amazon’s selection of Valentine’s Day Jewelry.

Lingerie

Lingerie is a great gift for your significant other to wear on Valentine’s Day or any day. It can get her in the mood, but it can also be something comfortable and sensual that she will love to wear. However you use it, lingerie should be an item you both enjoy and appreciate. The idea behind lingerie as a gift is that it shows your partner that you care about them, even if they aren’t wearing it when they receive their gift. Amazon has a wide selection of affordable lingerie. Here are some tips on selecting the perfect piece of lingerie:

  • Get her size! If you are buying from an online store like Victoria’s Secret or Amazon, make sure to check their sizing chart before purchasing anything so that she won’t have any issues when trying out what she receives from you (and don’t forget about styles with different sizing depending on whether they’re meant for bras versus underwear).
  • Figure out what type/clothing style would appeal most based on what your girlfriend likes best! For example: if she prefers wearing camisoles over tank tops then maybe getting something with lace detail instead would work better than going straight towards more traditional cuts such as cami sets which tend not only give off more professional vibes than some people may prefer but also don’t necessarily scream “sexy time tonight!” when looking through racks filled specifically designed solely with those items only available at Victoria’s Secret stores located around town where nobody goes anymore except during special promotions like Black Friday sales which never seem like enough incentive unless there’s free shipping involved too — especially since most retailers today offer free returns anyway thanks due diligence being taken by both sides involved: retailers themselves who want happy customers shopping again later down road once again plus consumers who actually care about quality products rather than just saving money regardless how long until expiration date becomes irrelevant depending upon item purchased (i..e., chocolate bars vs diapers).

A subscription box

A subscription box is an excellent gift because it’s something she can enjoy every month. It’s also a surprise and treats she can look forward to each month, so you don’t have to worry about picking the perfect gift this year. Instead, she can choose the box she wants, from beauty products to food!

A closet organizer

If your girlfriend is anything like me, she has a couple of areas in her closet that are a complete disaster. So many clothes are crammed into every nook and cranny, making it impossible to find anything when you need it.

A closet organizer is a perfect gift for this situation because it helps you stay organized while adding more storage space to your closet. You can use one to hang up your clothes or store them on shelves or racks—whatever works best for you!

I love using my organizer for jewelry (it’s great because I don’t have many necklaces) and shoes (there needs to be more room for all my shoes in my shoe box).

A wine subscription

Wine subscriptions are an excellent gift for the wine lover in your life. Think of it as a monthly surprise that keeps on giving. Wine subscription boxes are available online and at wine shops and come in different sizes. Some subscriptions only last one month, while others last several months. Some also include a tasting kit so you can get cozy on the couch before getting into position to open your next bottle of wine.

An e-reader

If you’re shopping for a reader, an e-reader can be a great gift. However, there are many different options to choose from, so it’s essential to do your research—you’ll want to ensure that the e-reader you pick out has the right features for your loved one. The most popular brand right now is Amazon’s Kindle device, but there are other brands out there as well, like Barnes & Noble’s Nook and Kobo.

There are also plenty of ways to get digital books on these devices. You can buy them directly from Amazon or another retailer or borrow them from libraries if they have an eBook collection (which many do). You can even listen to audiobooks through these devices—the latest Nooks come with built-in headphone jacks!

A massage gift card

If you don’t think she’ll like a massage, think again. Massage is a great way to relax and relieve stress. It can also help increase blood flow, which can help with muscle aches and pains, as well as sleep problems and headaches. A gift certificate for a massage will let her decide when it’s time to unwind with an hour-long rub down from one of her favorite masseurs or masseuses—and maybe even make sure she gets some extra love from someone special while she’s at it!

A membership to a museum or aquarium near you.

A membership to a museum or aquarium near you is an excellent gift that keeps on giving. You can visit the museum or aquarium together, which you both enjoy and do not need to spend any money on. But, most importantly, she will be happy with this gift because it’s something unique and special that only you would have thought of.

Cookie decorating supplies and ingredients

  • Cookie cutters
  • Sprinkles
  • Frosting/icing
  • A rolling pin
  • A cookie sheet

A ball jar set for making jam and pickles

This is an excellent gift for the home cook who loves to preserve. Ball jars are the best way to make jam, pickles, or anything that needs preserving. They’re easy to use and clean and come in many different sizes and shapes—so you can find one that fits right on your countertop.

These jars will allow her to start making her preserves, so she doesn’t have to rely on store-bought bottles all year!

Tickets to a concert or show, a nice dinner, or a movie trip.

Tickets to a concert or show, a nice dinner, or a movie trip are excellent choices for your lady if you want to give her something more memorable and unique than flowers or chocolates.

If you take her to see a concert in town, you’ll have time together in the car on the way there and back. You can talk about whatever’s going on in your lives at work or school while making plans for what happens after the show (lunch? drinks?). If she enjoys singing along with the performers as much as I do, then it will be fun for both of you! If not, let her know that sometimes I like listening without worrying about being able to carry my weight on any given song.

Wine glasses, champagne glasses, and beer glasses. Get something unique for each type if you have the room. You can also get an inside joke etched on them if you want.

You’re all grown up now, and you don’t have to wait for special occasions to drink wine, champagne, or beer. So enjoying yourself on a Wednesday evening in the middle of January is okay.

Moreover, because you’re an adult who can drink all the alcohol she wants (and maybe even buy some), your glassware must be up to par. This means that it should be durable enough, so you don’t have to worry about breaking them when you accidentally knock them over with your elbow while reaching for a pretzel bagel chip. Also, ensure no tiny pieces of glass make their way into your mouth as you sip away! Finally, you want something unique because if it isn’t, why would someone like going out with friends so that they can use these glasses? Plus, people will always notice what kind of glassware they’re drinking from and marvel at how cool those personalized engraved names look on the stemware! They’ll say, “Wow, look at those beautiful glasses!” Or “Whoa, those engraved names are amazing.” Or “That’s great workmanship on those etched-in names.” These types of comments should make any woman happy since it shows how much effort went into getting them such beautiful gifts (dishwasher safe).

Valentine’s Day is a great time to give her something she wants but wouldn’t buy herself.

Valentine’s Day is a great time to give her something she wants but wouldn’t buy herself. You can also get an inside joke etched on them if you wish. Wine glasses and champagne glasses are always lovely presents as well!

  1. Your ValentineDay’s gifts ideas are on point. My ex used to offer me jewelry, chocolate, and a nice dinner. He never bought lingerie because he never knew my true size. And he was a little careless. Your other ideas like cookie decorating supplies and materials to make jam are very original. But I think that you can also bet on your partner’s hobbies and preferences to offer the best gift.

    1. Yes, when you know of your partner’s hobby interests you can buy something for them based on the hobby they like.

  2. Thank you so much for writing this article on 20 Valentine’s Day gifts for her! Valentine’s Day is coming up, so it’s definitely very timely that I’m reading this article now. There are a lot of great gift ideas in this article that I’ll keep in mind. Along with the sweets, I also thought macarons could be a good choice of a gift. What do you think?

  3. You made me remember it’s time to share a gift with our loved ones. I usually give roses and an early note to my wife. But it’s time to change. With your list of valentines day gifts, I will look at buying her jewellery or lingerie. It will make a lot of difference. Thank you for the list of affordable sources of both Lingerie and Jewelry.

  4. You have listed some great gift ideas for women on Valentine’s Day.  Chocolate, roses and jewellery are all classic gifts that every guy seems to buy for their significant other, and there’s nothing wrong with that.  But, I do like how you have included some other ideas as well.  I think it’s important to think outside the box and get her something that’s unique to her, and as you mentioned, it’s a great time to get her something that she won’t buy for herself.  Jewellery for instance can be engraved and personalized to make it more meaningful, and getting her favourite flowers are much more meaningful than generic roses.

    1. Hello Jenny, it is a pleasure to provide a guide for our romantic partners to buy for Valentine’s Gift. I received a personalized trinket box last year from my husband and I love it.

  5. I’m happy I stumbled on this today. I wasn’t even thinking about Valentine’s day, but it’s right around the corner.

The first thing listed was flowers. That’s a given and something I try to avoid (mainly due to the cost).
The subscription box is something I honestly have never even considered. That’s an excellent idea that I will defiantly be thinking about.

Something that I found interesting was cookie decorating supplies and a membership to an aquarium.

I like the last one because I know it’s something she wouldn’t buy herself, and I wouldn’t mind checking it out. Not to mention it’s something we’ve talked about but have never gone!

As for the cookie decorating supplies, that might be a fun gift that we can all benefit from!

Wow, great ideas on this list made this year so much easier. I also found a wine monthly subscription that seems like the best idea yet! Thanks for the ideas!

    1. Flowers and Chocolates are the most popular Valentine’s Gifts that men buy for their romantic partner. The cookie cutters is a great family activity that all can enjoy, making cookies together like you mentioned. Yes, my sister is the big wine drinker and she has four different wine subscriptions now. The wine subscription started after she received a wine subscription as a Valentine’s gift 2 years ago.

  6. Great information!  I often have trouble figuring out what I want to get my wife for Valentine’s Day.  While chocolate and flowers are always good, I like variety Too.  You provide some great alternatives to the traditional Valentine’s Day gifts.  Subscription boxes, memberships to local museums and aquariums, and tickets to a concert or show are options I definitely will check out!

    1. Hi Jt, I got surprised today already for the Riverdance event ticket that is going to be close by for Valentine’s. I have always enjoyed watching them do Irish dancing on TV. There are lots of choices out there, we go shopping in brick mentor stores we are usually limited to flowers, chocolates, and teddy bears. I like to be unique, for my husband I personalized a phone case and journal for him to write his blood sugar levels in for the doctor.

  7. Great Valentine’s gift ideas! The chocolate and flower gifts are definitely the kind of gifts I think of it when it comes to Valentine’s Day. Jewelry is also a great gift idea as well, it seems to be the go-to gift for many couples out there. Finding the right gift for Valentine’s day to show how much you love someone truly lies in the heart and that’s what is all about.

Thanks for sharing! I love your website

    1. Hello Terence, I see the men rush to stores to buy those flowers or teddybears at the last minute just about. Always get chocolates from my spouse and kids, because I like flowers that can keep for a long time and not a short time with cut roses. There are some that look for a special unique gift, which is why included personalized gift options for everyone to consider.

  8. Valentine’s day is one of the most exciting occasions for women with partners because their significant other becomes more romantic on this day.

But I think there are men who dread this day because they think their “woman” might be expecting them for luxurious gifts, haha. I personally never obliged nor hinted to my husband that I want an expensive gift. I am a very practical woman and I’d rather use that money for household items, lol.

You’re right; a valentine’s day gift does not have to be expensive. Flowers, chocolates, simple jewelry, or a massage gift card will do for me, ☺. It’s because the gesture or thought is more important than the gift itself.

Thanks for sharing your list of 20 Valentine’s day gifts.

    1. Yes, Alice, I am the same way. Our wedding anniversary is February 17th, most of the time we just have a nice dinner at home but this year we going on a weekend trip to celebrate our union and valentine’s at the same time.  Small gifts are fine with me, it shows my husband is thinking of me and the taught is what counts not the amount of money.
