With a new puppy added to the family, now we need to know what toys are best for puppies. When shopping for new toys, we must look for safe toys, will they last, and pay close attention to if they are going to be too big for puppies.
Firstly, before getting into reviewing toys for our fur babies, let me introduce a new family member added to our family.
Meet Thor, who came into our family from a home that basically did not take care of the puppies. Thor is scared to be alone and follows us around every move we make. When we get up and go into another room to leave him sleeping in his little puppy bed, he whines which is crying to me.
Thor loves to snuggle and be close to human contact and I personally give in and let him snuggle in bed beside me. Some will believe this is not safe for the little fellow, I know it’s not safe but I am a light sleeper and wake up to any sound or movement.
Thor also loves to find shoes and electric cords to try chewing. This is not safe! That is when we need to look for toys for Thor and that is just what I did. When I bought toys, bought different ones to try and subscribed to bark box for my little one.

For Thors’ chewing, we taught this 20-pack puppies teething chew toys will give him a lot of toys mainly different options to chew on. When in fact, he yelped like the toys were too hard and we gave him one to try even though being concerned that would break his little teeth. We quickly, picked up the chew toy and put them all away until he grows a little more. You can view this package on Amazon, but we would not recommend it to puppies who are less than 4 months old.

The star pups coffee dog toy pup’kin spice latte is an adorable toy for your new puppy as Thor loves hist. We taught it to be really cute, take it with us when we go out for are Starbucks latte, pull through the drive-thru window to order our lattes and this toy will not leave Thor out on his latte.
The latte is super soft with a squeaker inside that keeps our little puppy content for a while. Thor, takes the little straw in his mouth and slings it back and forth for the daily activity of chewing, The only thing doesn’t know for sure about is how long the toy will last, as my previous puppy liked to chew so much until the squeaker is removed.
Overall all reviews on Amazon, are positive with claims of lasting a good while and still looking new after weeks of chewing from their pets.
Outward Hound Hide-A-Squirrel Squeaky Puzzle Plush Dog Toy
The hide-a-squirrel squeaky plush toy is another one of Thors’ favorite toys to especially play fetch with outside in dog parks. We hide the squirrels inside the plush, and it’s fun to see your little puppy trying to find the squirrel and pull them out on rainy or snowy days inside. This toy also improved Thor’s problem-solving skills.
The bad side of this toy, is I don’t want Thor thinking when he grows up that he can just go outside and kills squirrels. All puppies need interaction with other animals, and as dog owners, we need to train the properly. You can view this adorable cut squirrel squeaky on Amazon.
