The Ceramic Pro 10-Piece Cookware Set from Bialetti was purchased for our reviewer to use in her kitchen. Check out our full review below.

Bialetti is known for its iconic stovetop espresso pots, but it also produces a wide range of other kitchen utensils, such as this ceramic cookware. Several weeks of everyday use gave us a good idea of how this sturdy set of two frying pans, two saucepans with lids, a deep skillet, and a Dutch oven, all with lids, would perform in everyday home use. We tested its ability to respond to heat changes when we needed to slow a boil to a simmer, and we tried the nonstick properties when we cooked sticky foods such as scrambled eggs and cheese-topped burgers. We’ve got the results for you after hours of cooking, eating, and cleaning.

The design is better than you expected

We were surprised to find that this set looks better than its price would suggest when we first saw it. The dark gray exterior and the understated bluish-gray nonstick ceramic interior are very pleasing to the eye. The metal handles compliment the design well, with a graceful curve and holes at the ends of the handles that are useful if we plan to hang them on a pot rack.

With a good variety of sizes and shapes, this set of cookware is mid-sized. The set included:

  • 8-inch and 10-inch frying pans.
  • 1.5-quart and 3-quart saucepans with lids.
  • A 3-quart deep skillet with a lid.
  • A 6-quart Dutch oven with a lid.

A large family may not be looking for large pieces, but none of the pieces were ridiculously small, so they should all be used. The lids are glass with a brushed metal rim and a loop handle at the top. Handles are graduated in size depending on the size of the pot or lid, but they are all easy to grasp

There was an oddity in that the lids for the deep skillet and Dutch oven were identical in size, so they were hard to distinguish when sitting on the counter. Despite the skillet lid fitting on top of the Dutch oven, not as intended, the Dutch oven’s lid slipped inside the skillet. It would be easy to grab the wrong ones if you store the lids separately from the pots since they look similar.

Materials/Heating Capacity: Aluminum with ceramic coating

Because aluminum is a very responsive material, it heats up quickly and cools down quickly. When you want to change the temperature in cookware, it happens very quickly. As the water boils quickly, you can turn down the heat to prevent a boil-over. Aluminum is not magnetic, so it cannot be used with induction cooktops, but this set is more than happy to be used on gas or electric stoves.

Ceramic

The metal on these pots was sufficiently thick, which allowed them to heat evenly without hot spots or burns that can occur when thin metal pots are used. Furthermore, we achieved a nice sear on the meat and had no trouble browning foods when that was our goal. Grilled cheese sandwiches browned nicely, and the escaping cheese did not stick to the pan when it got a bit crispy.

You can use the cookware in the oven to complete your steak, and you can use the frying pans or deep skillet for impromptu baking when you don’t have a suitable baking pan to satisfy an emergency brownie craving. Most baking and roasting recipes require temperatures between 325 and 350 degrees, but you should avoid high-temperature recipes over 400 degrees.

Our baked goods slid out cleanly thanks to the ceramic nonstick interior; we then cut them on a cutting board afterward. If you want to cut a cake without flipping it, you could use a nylon spatula for cutting and serving.

They’re hard-anodized or hardened through an electrolytic process, so they’re incredibly sturdy and, with reasonable care, will last a long time. Nonetheless, nonstick cookware will eventually need to be replaced. Cast iron skillets will be handed down for generations, but this cookware won’t.

Cleaning: Simple, done by hand

Despite their nonstick surfaces, these pots and pans are easy to clean by hand since they do not hold onto any food – even burnt food. The cookware cleaned quickly no matter what we cooked. A little extra attention was needed around the rivets that held the handles on.

The price is definitely worth it.

They aren’t precisely bargain-basement cheap, but they’re affordable for what you get. Less expensive sets are usually made of thinner metal or have less valuable pots and pans, so it’s worth spending a little more for a set that will last longer, work better, and look fantastic.

Final Thoughts

Don’t hesitate to buy it.

At this price point, most cookware sets are destined for new kitchens, where they’ll be replaced with better quality pieces after a few years. They tend to look cheap. On the other hand, Bialetti’s Ceramic Pro 10-Piece Cookware Set looks like quality cookware and performs well regardless of what we decide to cook. There are higher quality sets available, but they are also more expensive. This set is a good buy at this price.
